Solidarity & Sickness

I got whatever the bug is, and let me tell you...It is NOT fun.
Fatigue and body aches is how it all began, with major chest pains. I think I am going to die I thought. Luckily the next morning (past Wednesday) I woke only to find that my fever remained and the chest pain turned into a sore throat and brutal cough. Off to the doctor I went. The PrimaCare Dr. never looked so much like a Healer, with his confident diagnosis and anti-biotic STRONG shot delivered by (the large, and mind you strong voiced) nurse. Now I am into day 3 of this ridiculous Upper Respiratory Infection that so far has cost me: a DAR (Disciplinary Action Record) from 24 Hour Fitness, because I didn't get my classes covered, a fatigued body because I went back to a 10 hour work day yesterday, AND now a RUNNY NOSE. I thought the anti-biotics were supposed to stop this thing, not perpetuate it. Geez.

Either way, like most things in life, there is a greater lesson to be learned.

We are all sick and consistently blowing our vile noses of filth in us...it MUST come out--to be ended with wellness (repentance) or to be ended with more sickness (apathy).

"But when he heard it, he said, 'Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.'
So I should REJOICE, that I am sick, and better yet aware of it--able to receive grace & medication from my sweet, Loving, Mighty, Steadfast, Healer Doctor." (Matthew 9:12-13)

O Lord, Jesus, help us to be okay with sickness.
And o goodness let us go to you, our Ultimate doctor.
